One of the changes to voting introduced in the recent legislation is the ability to apply for a postal vote online. Whilst people voting on the day will need to take their ID with them, people voting by post do not. You can apply to vote by post using this link: https://www.gov.uk/apply-postal-vote

Both online and paper applications require ID verification either by National Insurance number or some other form of identification. You can hold a postal vote for a maximum of three years. At the end of that 3 year period, you need to re-apply.

Proxy voters will now only be able to have a proxy vote for 2 other people - regardless of whether they are related or not.

If you already have a postal vote, you do not need to do anything. You will be contacted by the Council when it is time for your postal vote to be renewed.
