Lib Dems now control 3 Town and Parish Councils in the New Forest
The Lib Dems now run three town and parish councils in the New Forest following a strong showing in May's local elections. Whilst holding Hythe and Dibden Parish Council, the Lib Dems gained both Totton and Eling Town Council and Lymington and Pennington Town Council from the Conservatives.
In Hythe and Dibden, the Lib Dems have a large majority over the Conservatives with 12 Lib Dems being elected compared to 1 Conservative. The Lib Dem chairman of the Council is Councillor Alex Wade.
In Totton and Eling, the Liberal Democrats gained 5 seats to win 13 overall whilst the Conservatives lost 5 seats to end up with 7 on the 20-strong council. Councillor Caroline Rackham was elected as Chair of the Council for the forthcoming year.
In Lymington and Pennington, the Lib Dems gained 6 seats to end up with 8 overall. The Conservatives lost 6 seats to end up with 5 with 2 Independents elected on the 15-member council. Councillor Jack Davies has been elected as Mayor of Lymington and Pennington for the forthcoming year.
These new Lib Dem administrations will work hard all year round to deliver the change local people want to see in their communities.
